Making Halloween props does not have to be hard.  We actually make it harder than what it truthfully is, think too hard on the subject, invest a lot of time trying to come up with an idea to only fail again, and spend tons of money purchasing things that don’t work.  Just look around your house, basement or garage and you will find things that you never knew you could use to make props.  One for instance, is how to make a chain for your Halloween props.  Here’s what you will need:

  • Foam pipe insulation
  • Sharp utility knife
  • Glue or hot glue gun

Start with your utility knife fully extended, cut about a 1/4″ section of the pipe all the way through.  Once you have cut enough pieces, cut a slit through your pieces, now link them together to create a chain.  Now take your glue or hot glue gun (the glue gun works best) and glue the slits together to hold your chain firmer.  Whala, instant prop chain!  You can even spray paint your chain!  Never knew something that could insulate your pipes, could be used as a Halloween prop, eh?
